   We are recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant for September 2025

Salary – Grade B £24,027 - £24,348 FTE

Closing Date – 29th August 2025

Interview Date – 5th September 2025

Start Date – September 2025

 

We are very excited to advertise for a new staff member to come and join our team. We are a small Infant school with a big heart. The successful applicant will be caring, patient and motivated. They will have a good general education with sound literacy, numeracy and IT skills to be able to support pupils effectively. Knowledge and experience of working with children with SEN is desirable, and you will have a willingness to learn, and develop your skills. Above all applicants must believe that with determination, compassion and energy they can make a difference to the children and their families, raise aspirations and ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. 

Pre-school and infant school experience is desirable but not essential.  The successful applicant will be skilled in supporting the class teacher to create a calm and purposeful learning environment and have excellent interpersonal skills to support our relationship approach to learning. Working with individual pupils and groups, this role also includes overseeing school lunch times.

 The Expectations

  • At least GCSE Grade C in English and Maths. Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is desirable but full training will be given to the right candidate.
  • Previous experience of working with and guiding the learning of children in a school and or early years setting.
  • Experience in behaviour and SEND.
  • Good administrative skills to ensure accurate record keeping and monitoring of pupils’ attainment.
  • Good IT skills - Be able to use emails efficiently and create resources using computers.
  • The ability to maintain children's interest, enthusiasm and motivation for learning. 
  • A strong commitment to ensure effective behaviours for learning are maintained.
