Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant & Lunchtime Supervisor (Mornings Only)

Location: North Baddesley Junior School 
Contract Type: Part-Time (Mornings Only, Term Time)
Hours: 8:30am – 1:15pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: Grade B or C (dependent on experience)


About the Role

We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team every morning. This role involves working closely with individual pupils who have a range of additional needs, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, following guidance from the class teacher and SENCo.

  • Support pupils’ learning and development, adapting activities to meet their individual needs.

  • Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and emotional well-being within the classroom and wider school environment.

  • Assist pupils with personal and intimate care as required, such as toileting, changing, and maintaining personal hygiene, following the school’s policies and training.

  • Help to create a safe, engaging and supportive learning space.

  • Record observations and progress, sharing relevant information with staff as appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each child’s development.

  • Support children on the playground at lunch times and work as part of the lunchtime team. 


About You

  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs (preferred but not essential – full training will be provided).

  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful of children’s dignity and privacy.

  • Comfortable providing personal and intimate care in a professional manner.

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting the school’s inclusive ethos.
