Salary Details: MPR (£31,650 - £43,607) / UPR (£45,656 - £49,084) depending on experience plus SEN min allowance (£2,679 per annum)

Job/Person Summary

Forest Park School, is a Hampshire local authority maintained special school.  We provide education for children and young people aged 2-19 years with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties, many of whom have autism.  The split-site school (Primary and Secondary) is situated in Totton.

We have an exciting opportunity for two dynamic, creative and inspirational teachers to join our wonderful, friendly and welcoming school in September 2025.   We are looking for individuals who have the resilience, drive and enthusiasm to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their families. Whilst the posts are temporary for one year initially due (due to maternity leave), it is anticipated that there may be an opportunity for one or both to become permanent in the future.

The successful candidates will work with an excellent staff team who are both forward thinking and innovative, and who have high expectations of themselves and the pupils they support. We value our employees and will provide high quality coaching, support and professional development opportunities.

The successful applicants will:

  • Ideally have experience of teaching children with severe, complex and profound learning difficulties, including autism 
  • Be skilled at planning and teaching a creative and dynamic curriculum that meets the personalised learning needs of each individual pupil
  • Be a solution focussed, positive and proactive practitioner
  • Have high expectations and be ambitious about what’s possible for all of our pupils
  • Be flexible, resilient, have effective communication skills and a good sense of humour
  • Be a team player and an inspirational class team leader, creating an exciting learning environment for all
  • Be prepared to teach in any area of the school – though consideration will be given to individual’s experience and interests
