Job Introduction
Following the retirement of the long serving, current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a highly effective Business Manager to lead and manage an enthusiastic and friendly team. Not only is our office crucial to the smooth running of the school, the role is varied, busy, rewarding and fun. The successful candidate will provide effective HR, finance, business and administrative support.
Salary scale E: £32,149 - £35,241 pro rata for 22.5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of financial accounting and managing budgets
- Has experience of working in a school and as part of a team
- Has a good knowledge of personnel matters
- Has experience of school-based systems such as Arbor and IBC, or a willingness to learn as full training will be given
- Is able to manage the school budget and produce reports for governing body meetings
- Is friendly and able to communicate effectively, warmly and professionally at all times
- Has excellent personal organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Can successfully lead and manage a team
- Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English)
- Possesses sound judgement, integrity and can maintain confidentiality at all times
Your duties will include:
- Supporting the Headteacher in the preparation, management and monitoring of the school budget
- Preparing regular reports for the Headteacher and governors
- Effectively managing and maintaining day-to-day financial systems within the school
- Responsibility for school personnel administration
- Responsibility for the completion of al new starter / leaver paperwork and other documentation relating to staff employment
- Overseeing data protection procedures by taking the role of GDPR Officer
- Jointly overseeing Health & Safety within the school
