School Receptionist

Job Introduction

Tweseldown infant School is a multi-form entry school based in the heart of the Crookham Park estate, Church Crookham in Fleet. 

We are looking to appoint a highly organised, resourceful and excellent communicator to join our reception team and be ‘front of house.’ 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise their workload, meeting deadlines in a demanding and dynamic environment is an essential skill within this role. 

In this busy and varied role, you will be dealing with pupils, school staff, parents/carers and external visitors on a daily basis both face-to-face and on the phone. 

You will need to be IT literate and confident in dealing with pupils; their wellbeing, welfare and able to administer medicines when required.


Main Duties:

  • Greet clients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Answer phone calls promptly, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and managing the relevant actions from these calls.
  • Handle correspondence and manage incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Operate our school’s security badge system, key system, monitoring the gates and general front of house security.
  • Maintain office records (filing systems, etc).
  • Prepare documents to support the office and head teacher
  • Maintain office supplies and place orders as needed
  • Support first aid and sick children, training will be provided for this
  • Booking of trips and other administrative tasks that help the efficient running of the school
  • Any other reasonable duties which may arise

  

Experience:

  • Previous reception experience is essential, with a preference for candidates who have experience working in a school setting.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including typing speed and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

 

 

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am-4pm with a half an hour break each day, 40 weeks, term time only. B Grade, Pro rata salary £20,577.84
