Job Introduction
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Science Technician to join our busy Science department. Currently our technician team consists of 2 Technicians and one Senior Technician all of whom have a wide range of experience. The department itself is housed in a purpose-built block with 10 laboratories and 3 prep rooms.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Technician supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning by meeting the practical requirements of the Science curriculum.
They must be organised, flexible, have the capacity to work well within a team and have good ICT skills. Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable, as is a qualification in Science and knowledge of chemical handling.
Ideally applicants should have:
• An aptitude for, and good working knowledge of Science.
• A relevant qualification (e.g. GCSE or A level) in Science.
• Experience of working in in educational environment.
• A knowledge of health & safety regulations.
• A genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student.
• The ability to relate to young people and adults in the learning environment.
