Science Technician
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to oversee the day‑to‑day running of our science laboratories. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of practical science across the department, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are prepared efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in a laboratory environment within an educational setting although full training will be provided for those without this specific experience. In addition, the success candidate will:
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to take initiative
- Be proactive, flexible, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Have a clear commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety

Alderwood School has recently opened a £13 million STEM building, providing cutting‑edge facilities that create an outstanding environment for both teaching and learning.
Alderwood School is an ‘all through’ school on the outskirts of Aldershot split across 3 sites with approximately 850 pupils on our senior site. This role is based at our senior site.
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time plus one week.
Salary details: Hampshire County Council Grade C – (FTE £25,186 to £26,244). Actual Salary depending on hours agreed
