Senior Admin Officer

Job Introduction


The Butts Primary School are looking for a hardworking, organised and experienced Senior Admin Officer to join our busy and welcoming school office team. 

The successful candidate will manage the office team and be able to multitask and prioritise their own workload. This is a key role that requires an efficient and flexible approach, as well as managing the office systems, processes and procedures.

This is a varied role with responsibilities which include:

● Management of the school budgets and spending including budget monitoring reports, staffing costs and reporting to governors

● Financial processing on SAP/IBC system to include; raising purchase orders, processing invoices and related stock level management, overtime claims

● Staff management including recruitment of staff, contractual changes, processing claims and absences, supply cover and payroll reconciliation

● Complying with relevant legislation, including Health and Safety administration and Fire Regulations

●Management of school systems and databases

● Providing a warm welcome to visitors and communicating with parents by email, telephone and face to face

● Managing and implementing performance management for the admin team


Candidates will ideally:

● Have previous experience working within a school as a Senior Admin Officer

● Be committed to the safeguarding of children and colleagues

● Have experience of working in an administration and finance environment with excellent administrative skills

● Be competent in the use of SAP/IBC systems or similar for financial and HR related input

● Have a comprehensive knowledge and experience of a range of computer systems, including Word, Excel and School MIS such as Arbor 

● Work professionally, maintaining confidentiality at all times

● Have the ability to prioritise and work independently, as well as leading a team

● Have a caring nature with the ability to stay calm under pressure

● Relate well to children, staff, parents, governors and all members of the school community
