Senior Administrative Assistant
Mill Rythe Junior School is a happy and successful junior school on the picturesque Hayling Island. We are just a few minutes from Havant and a short drive from Portsmouth, Fareham and Chichester.

Due to the promotion of previous post holder, we are now looking for a Senior Administrative Officer to complete our Administration Team. The successful candidate will have duties related to the administration of school information management systems, procurement, attendance and admissions.
The ideal candidate will need to be confident and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with parents and carers, staff and other external agencies, as required. We are looking for a candidate who has a range of administrative experience including proficient use of ICT (including MS office packages).
As a member of our administrative team, the successful applicant will:
- Be able to work in a busy and demanding environment
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR policies and practices
- Be able to work independently when required and take own initiate
- Be able to manage work time efficiently and effectively prioritise tasks
- Be able to keep meticulous records and have an eye for detail
- Be proactive in following up information and solving problems
- Be efficient, well organised, flexible and able to work calmly under pressure, often to competing deadlines
- Be able to work closely and effectively within a team and build good, professional relationships with staff and children
Duties will include, but are not limited to, general office and administrative tasks, reception duties, general management of school information systems (including updates and censuses), raising purchase orders and paying of invoices, processing of leave of absence applications and issuing of penalty notices in line with our school attendance policies. You will be expected to undertake duties of a fully trained First Aider, in addition to caring for the welfare of children, as and when required. Knowledge of school systems such as Arbor and IBC is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
