Senior Administrative Officer

Job Introduction

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time 

Salary Details: Grade E. The actual salary (pro-rated to reflect term time only position) will be approximately £29,500 to £31,000, dependent on experience.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (8:00 am – 4.30 pm with an hour unpaid lunch break) 40 weeks per year (term time only plus 1 week).


This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team as a Senior Administration Officer.  We are a forward-thinking school and the successful candidate will have key role in our continuing development. You will take a lead role in ensuring the delivery and smooth running of effective administrative, HR and financial systems within the school. You will also have a key role in managing our Office, Site and Wraparound care teams, Health and Safety procedures and Data Protection compliance. 

We are looking for a colleague who:


  • Can demonstrate previous sustained, successful experience of working at a senior level in administration and finance, ideally in a school setting
  • Has relevant formal or professional qualifications and GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English
  • Is proactive in maintaining and developing administrative, IT and financial systems
  • Has excellent organisation skills, ensuring that the school’s support systems run smoothly on a day to day basis
  • Has strong interpersonal skills, communicating positively and effectively with our children, parents, staff, governors and visitors
  • Is thorough, pays attention to detail and has the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Demonstrates sound IT skills, ideally including Arbor, SAP/IBC and is proficient in Outlook 365, Excel and Word
  • Is able to prioritise, meet deadlines and be forward thinking in key decision making to plan for future initiatives
  • Seeks external sources of funding for the benefit of the pupils and their families
  • Ensures that the school obtains the best value for money in achieving educational goals
  • Has an appreciation of the importance of confidentiality, honesty and integrity and is able to offer comprehensive support to the Headteacher
  • Is willing to engage in continuing professional development
  • Is committed to safeguarding children and colleagues
  • Supports the vision and values of the school
  • Has a strong desire to make a positive impact on the whole school community.
