Senior Site Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit a friendly, hardworking, hands-on professional with experience in maintenance to keep our school building safe and welcoming.  The Site Manager is responsible for Health and Safety and a knowledge/background in Health and Safety, security, repair and maintenance including compliance and record keeping is essential in this role.

You will be energetic, enthusiastic and physically fit as lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries are an important part of the job.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Being able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Opening and locking up the site. Split shifts are favourable but we can be flexible for the right candidate.
  • Site walks to ensure that everything is safe, clean and tidy – taking prompt remedial action where possible or reporting faults to third party contractors or Headteacher as appropriate.
  • Regularly review the school site to establish areas that ‘need attention’ and to use initiative to pre-empt issues through the development of a maintenance programme;
  • Act as a key holder for emergencies. Attend school in response to “call outs” in emergencies.
  • Health and safety checks and monitoring, including fire, legionella, play equipment checks, COSHH, working at height and risk assessments.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance and repairs (which could include plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating).
  • Engaging, liaising and supervising contractors, including grounds maintenance teams.
  • Oversee the use of the site by hirers, lettings etc
  • Keeping up to date with legislation and training.
  • Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies and managing the cleaning staff/contract.
  • Using online systems to report maintenance issues and log readings.
  • Good communication skills and able to manage their time effectively.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and warmly welcomed. For further information and an application pack, please contact Katie Clayton, School Business Manager on k.clayton@weeke.hants.sch.uk
