Job Introduction

This role is vital in ensuring that the school environment remains safe, clean and conducive to the development of young children. The Site Assistant’s responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, all aimed at maintaining the school's facilities to the highest standards.

We are looking for someone who will: 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Practical knowledge of general maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team showing a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with staff, students, contractors and parents.
  • Open and close the school premises, including locking doors and windows, and setting alarms.
  • Monitor and report any safety hazards or security concerns.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and drills. 
  • Maintain school grounds, including lawns, gardens, playgrounds, and parking areas.
  • Remove litter and debris from outdoor areas.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting and waste disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness in accordance with hygiene standards.
  • Undertake emergency cleaning tasks, such as dealing with spillages and bodily fluids. 
  • Keep records of maintenance and repair work carried out.
