Site Manager

Job Introduction

Are you a dedicated, hands-on professional with a passion for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children? We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, proactive and friendly person, with a range of practical and DIY skills to join our friendly school. Our beautiful Grade II listed primary school is seeking a committed Site Manager to oversee and manage the school premises.

 Main responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring the safe and efficient running of the school.
  • Being responsible for site security including the daily opening of the school, occasionally working outside normal hours for school events, including out of hours/ emergency call outs, and be the principal key holder.
  • Completing maintenance tasks to a good standard.
  • Overseeing cleaning contractors and ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Liaise and manage a programme of planned and preventative maintenance undertaking minor repairs, maintenance, and redecoration.
  • Overseeing the work of external contractors, ensuring standards are maintained, with health and safety being always paramount.
  • Carrying out H&S inspections, assessments and compliance checks.
  • Fire safety, COSHH, Legionella, Risk Assessments practice experience. (training provided)
  • Have basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Able to keep records of tests and checks as required, using paper, email and online systems

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate: - 

  • A flexible, positive, practical and efficient approach.
  • An ability to work independently, using their own initiative, including prioritising workloads and contributing to the needs of the children and the whole school team.
  • Have good basic DIY skills.
  • Good communication skills

Experience is desirable, but training is provided.
