Site Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for a highly motivated and committed Site Manager to lead our hardworking team responsible for ensuring our Academy is a safe, inviting and positive learning environment for our children, staff and visitors. 

You will be responsible for the management and operation of all premises-related functions including buildings and grounds maintenance, security, cleaning, health and safety, lettings of our facilities and managing contractors. You will also advise and proactively work with leaders to uphold and realise our vision and ensure the school runs as efficiently and effectively as possible following good sustainable principles.  

The site team includes: The Site Manager, Caretaker and 5 cleaning staff. Our site is extensive given our location in the heart of the city. We have a variety of original buildings, purpose built pre-fab buildings and a big car park at the front. Additionally, we are very fortunate to have large grounds which wrap around the site. We have begun developing these but there is still much to do to maximise their potential which is very exciting! 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in building maintenance or other relevant experience, ideally within an educational setting 
  • Experience in the management of service and maintenance contracts and supervising contractors 
  • Understanding and ability to apply regulations (such as health & safety, fire, manual handling regulations)
  • Skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry/joinery, painting and glazing 
  • A team player that can work collaboratively as well as using own initiative
