Job Introduction
We believe that the site manager is a key role in the school community and we will offer you a warm welcome! We are looking to appoint someone who is highly motivated to help provide a safe, clean, attractive and engaging environment for our children.
This role is full time and is paid on the support staff Grade D £27,780 - £30,564
The ideal candidate will be reliable, conscientious and take pride in their work. The candidate must have the skills, or be prepared to learn how, to carry out health and safety checks and routine maintenance. Training will be given so please do not be put off from applying if you have some, but not all the required skills/experience.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Opening and locking up the site.
- Site walks to ensure that everything is safe, clean and tidy – taking prompt remedial action where possible or reporting faults to third party contractors or Headteacher as appropriate.
- Regularly review the school site to establish areas that ‘need attention’ and to use initiative to pre-empt issues through the development of a maintenance programme;
- Act as a key holder for emergencies. Attend school in response to “call outs” in emergencies.
- Health and safety checks and monitoring, including fire, legionella, play equipment checks, COSHH, working at height and risk assessments.
- Undertake preventative maintenance and repairs (which could include plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating).
- Engaging, liaising and supervising contractors, including grounds maintenance teams.
- Keeping up to date with legislation and training.
- Monitoring and ordering cleaning products.
- Cleaning duties.
- Using online systems to report maintenance issues and log readings.
- Good communication skills and able to manage their time effectively;
- Being able to work as part of a team as well as on their own, showing leadership when needed with contractors and caretaking support;
- You will be energetic, enthusiastic and physically fit as lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries are an important part of the job.
