Salary Details: B Grade FTE £ 24,796- £25,128

Job/Person Summary:

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring teaching assistant to join our established team to work with a specific child. The successful post holder will work within the classroom, offering a varied programme of support. Previous experience of working with children diagnosed with autism and/ or who are non- verbal is desirable however training can be made available if required. 

 

The successful candidate will: 

  • Work with the child within the classroom environment and, when appropriate, groups of children to support their learning and development
  • Work with a specific pupil outside of the classroom when required
  • Be committed to enabling children to make progress
  • Be patient, calm and caring
  • Be flexible, proactive and resourceful
  • Understand the importance of play in a child’s learning and development
  • Work as part of a team
  • Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
  • Prepare and organise resources
  • Be willing to undertake training to gain further skills
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
