Job/Person Summary
Hook with Warsash C of E Academy are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to start in September. The role will involve 1:1 support for a child with an EHCP in Year R. You will be working with an experienced and dedicated team and will be modelling good behavioural strategies. Under the direction of the teacher you will work together to ensure the child thrives and has positive and successful learning experiences every day.
Training and support will be provided
This is a “GOOD” school as per OFSTED rating that provides bespoke support for the children in the classroom.
To apply as a Learning Support Assistant, you must have:
- A commitment to ensuring the safety of all pupils in the school
- Sunny, warm and positive disposition
- Clear, firm speaking voice modelling well spoken English
- Confidence to enforce school rules and have high expectations around behaviour
- Experience of working with children
- Excellent communication skills which enable positive resolutions of difficult situations
- Ability to listen effectively
- High level of self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work as part of a team and to establish good working relationships
- Motivation to read research for knowledge
- Able to use Microsoft Word
- Flexibility to support children some lunchtimes or support in other classes during staff absence
