Job Introduction
Crookham C of E (A) Infant School is looking to appoint a confident, flexible and highly motivated Special Needs Support assistant to join our dedicated school team. The role will involve you working with children with complex special educational needs.
The post will be for a fixed term initially until 31st August 2026 however, should the number of EHCP children at our school reduce our staffing requirements may be reviewed.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- have a very good knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children with social, emotional and behavioural needs and autism
- have good communication skills
- be versatile and have good prioritisation and time management skills
- work closely with and be accountable to class teachers
- develop a good relationship with other children in the class
- treat all school matters as confidential
- attend appropriate training sessions
Experience or awareness of ABA Therapy, the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and a relevant NVQ2 is desirable.

The post is specifically for specialised support for pupils with an EHCP assessment and may end if the number of pupils with EHCP’s in school reduces.
