Job Introduction
We are looking for a friendly, flexible and professional person with previous experience across the school to work as an individual Special Needs Assistant. You will be working with a variety of children under the direction of the class teacher. You will be joining our established learning support team and work alongside our team of dedicated teachers.
You will be supporting individual children in class throughout the day. You will be required to provide accurate records and daily feedback to the teachers. Previous experience of supporting children is essential, although training can be given to the right candidate.
This will be a very active role supporting children across the school.
We are a two-form entry primary school with good links to Winchester, Basingstoke, Andover and the M3/A34/A303
Candidates must have:
• Excellent team working and communication skills and enjoy working with children.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• A calm and positive approach, initiative and independent skills.
• An understanding of the curriculum to enable children to make progress.
• An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
• Have pastoral support of children at the heart of what they do, able to use their initiative to provide the very best support for our children and is committed to every child being successful
• Be cheerful, flexible and enjoy working as part of a team
• Be nurturing and kind and able to promote the school's values and ethos
• Have high expectations of all children and themselves
Applicants should also have: GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
