St Francis Special School, part of the Federation of Heathfield and St Francis Schools, is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled PMLD Teacher to join our dedicated team. The Role
As a PMLD Teacher, you will:
- Deliver high‑quality, personalised learning for pupils with profound and complex needs
- Plan and adapt learning to meet individual EHCP outcomes
- Use a range of sensory, engagement‑based and communication approaches
- Create a safe, calm and highly structured learning environment
- Work closely with Learning Support Assistants and therapists to deliver consistent support
- Promote pupils’ communication, independence, emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families and multi‑agency professionals
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Is a qualified teacher (primary or secondary) with a strong interest in SEND and PMLD
- Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and adaptability
- Has a good understanding of sensory learning, communication strategies and promoting positive well-being
- Works effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
- Is reflective, resilient and committed to inclusive practice
- Shares our commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Experience of working in a special school or pupils with PMLD is desirable.
