Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring high expectations and strong outcomes.
- Provide constructive feedback and use assessment effectively to accelerate progress.
- Contribute to a collaborative and innovative English department.
- Inspire a lifelong love of reading, writing, and critical thinking.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience of teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4, with proven GCSE success desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and exam board requirements.
Skills & Qualities:
- Enthusiastic about literature, language, and creative writing, and able to share this passion with students.
- Skilled in differentiating lessons to meet diverse learning needs (including SEND and EAL).
- Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management.
- Confident in using data and technology to support learning and progress.
Professionalism & Attitude:
- Resilient, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development.
- A collaborative team player with a positive approach to school life.
- Willing to support or lead enrichment opportunities, such as clubs, competitions, or trips.
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils.
