Job Introduction
We are seeking a talented Teacher of Design Technology to join our established and successful department. The Design Technology team is based in its own dedicated area, which houses well-equipped specialist rooms alongside excellent supporting facilities; including 4 fully- equipped workshops, 2 Graphics rooms with computer provision, 2 further computer work areas and CAD/CAM facilities. The department is further strengthened by experienced and highly capable technicians who play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of lessons and practical work.
Design Technology is a thriving subject taught to all students at KS3, with a range of specialisms offered at KS4 and KS5 including 3D Product Design and Graphic Products. The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4, with the potential in future to teach KS5, bringing a creative, practical and enthusiastic approach to the curriculum. A commitment to high-quality teaching, innovative planning and strong teamwork within a supportive and successful department is essential.
A genuine passion for Design Technology, and for the wider contribution it makes to students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, independence, and future opportunities is key. The ideal candidate will inspire and motivate learners at all levels and will contribute positively to the continued growth and success of this well-regarded department.
