Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a well-qualified and highly motivated part-time teacher of History to support the Principal, staff, and our students as we ‘strive for excellence’. This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher looking to make a difference in young people's lives. You will join a friendly and supportive team that strives to ensure that all students enjoy their learning and surpass expectations of achievement. This is a subject that is growing in popularity at GCSE and will be introducing Classical Civilisation as a KS4 course of study from September. Job overview

You’ll have the drive and ambition to share your love of History with our students, delivering lessons across a range of ability in line with relevant curriculum requirements whilst ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained. You’ll also be responsible for collaborating with the wider Humanities faculty to sustain and raise class achievement to an outstanding level.

The successful candidate will be required to teach History at KS3 and KS4 to the highest standard and make a positive difference to Academy life. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the Academy is essential.

You must be able to use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate our students and demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department.

Job requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Relevant specialist qualifications and subject experience (e.g BA Hons degree in History)
  • Full understanding of curriculum requirements for History
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
  • Understanding of how to implement assessment methods for differentiated learning strategies
