We are seeking to appoint a talented Teacher of Mathematics to join our team. This an exciting opportunity to join The Hamble School. Our vision ‘We Care, We Aim High, We Learn and Achieve Together’ encapsulates the work we do every day. Our intake numbers are increasing – we currently have 1,090 students. In March 2026 we were graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted and we are continuing to ensure that we provide the very best education for all our students.

You will be working in an established team of 10 qualified subject specialists including a Head of Department, two Assistant Heads of Department (leading on Key Stage 3 and 4) and a dedicated subject-specific HLTA. The team is committed to engaging with research and the latest innovations in education to improve our students’ life chances. GCSE outcomes increased last year and were above both national and Hampshire average. The department also offers GCSE Statistics and the Edexcel Extended Maths Certificate. We have strong links with Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester Universities and are committed to collaboration beyond The Hamble School.

We are seeking to appoint a talented Teacher of Mathematics who is passionate about their subject, able to inspire and motivate our learners.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to produce original and outstanding resources
  • A helpful and friendly personality who values teacher-student relationships
  • Strong teamwork skills to support colleagues and trainees
  • Ambition and high expectations for our students
  • A secure use of data
  • Willingness to take part in extra-curricular activities, intervention and trips abroad.

This position would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT.
