Teacher of Physical Education (Female)

Job Introduction

Do you have a passion for inspiring the next generation of athletes?

We are excited to invite applications for a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join our dedicated team at King’s Academy Bay House, in Gosport, a vibrant coastal town with a strong community spirit and easy access to Portsmouth and the South Downs.

This role involves working closely with female students, including supervision in gender-specific settings such as changing rooms and providing tailored PE instruction. In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, this post is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1, and so we may only accept applications from female candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher to begin their career in a supportive, high-performing school—though applications from experienced colleagues are also warmly welcomed.

We are looking for someone who can inspire and motivate students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, delivering engaging lessons and contributing fully to our vibrant extra-curricular offer. The ideal candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for PE and a desire to help young people build confidence, develop skills and enjoy success in sport. We are particularly excited to hear from applicants who are keen to champion and expand girls’ participation in both team and individual sports.

Our school enjoys a well-established reputation for excellence in sport. Our students regularly compete at regional and national level, and our extra-curricular programme is considered a vital part of school life. You’ll be joining a team with a strong sense of purpose and a collaborative spirit.

We offer a highly regarded ECT support and mentoring programme that ensures new teachers are given the guidance, training and encouragement they need to thrive. You’ll benefit from personalised professional development and be part of a school community that truly values its staff.

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Gosport, KA Bay House offers the opportunity to work just a stone’s throw from the sea in a stunning setting. Our school is rated Good in all areas by Ofsted, and our Sixth Form is in the top 10% nationally for progress, as measured by ALPS.

We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner who:

  • Has a passion for teaching and learning in PE.
  • Can deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students across all Key stages.
  • Is committed to raising student achievement and making a real difference in young people’s lives.
  • Will contribute positively to a supportive and forward-thinking department.
  • Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree.
  • Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for your subject.
  • Has the ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Is committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.

If you’re a teacher who sets high standards, loves your subject, and wants to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives, we would love to hear from you. For further information or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact 023 9258 7931.
