Job/Person Summary
‘Be Kind, Be Brave, Be You’ is our school motto and we are looking for a teacher who embodies these qualities. We strive to be a school built on love with high aspirations for all.
The needs of the children are always paramount in life and decision-making within a school, and our children are at the heart of everything we do. We are a trauma‑aware school, committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child is understood, supported, and able to thrive so that they can achieve their full potential.
We aim to provide a rich and varied curriculum through our wonderful and unique learning environments and extensive facilities. Our school curriculum is designed to motivate and excite our children, as well as to provide them with the knowledge, skills and personal traits and dispositions they need to be fully equipped and empowered to embrace their future. Teachers from all classes have PPA together, planning the same curriculum and experiences, including trips and residential visits, which are attended as a year group.
We are an inclusive school - we celebrate our differences, encourage individuality and independence, and work hard every day to ensure that our school is a place where everyone feels valued and included. Staff work collegiately across the school, including with the Infant School, to drive our culture of high aspirations for all.
We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic class teacher to join our equally passionate and enthusiastic staff team. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced teacher (Main Pay Range (M1-M6)) but will welcome applications from ECT’s. We will require you to:
- Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class ensuring equality of opportunity for all
- Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct
- Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position
- Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils
- Act within, the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards (2012)
- Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
Through commitment, innovation and a strong focus on inclusive teaching, we are looking for candidates who can help us ‘be the best that we can be’! We are keen to appoint individuals with a proactive and positive attitude, who can enrich the lives of the learners and staff with whom they work.
The post provides an excellent opportunity for you to develop your career within an attractive and well-resourced working environment, supported by a talented, dedicated and collegiate team of staff.
In return we can offer you;
- A school that has a positive and caring ethos, where emotional well-being is at the heart of our culture
- Happy and well-motivated children
- A skilled and dedicated team, committed to doing the best for its children
- A supportive leadership team and governing body with a commitment to your professional development
- Training and CPD opportunities to enable you to be both happy and successful in your role
