Teaching Assistant 1:2 - temporary for one year

Job Introduction

Brockenhurst CE Primary and Pre-School is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and suitably qualified person who shares our ethos of putting children at the heart of all we do.

You will be part of a team with the class teacher supporting and working with individuals.   The person will assist in planning, adapting and scaffolding activities, fostering an environment which encourages the development and independence of each child.  

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Can enthuse and inspire children to learn; 
  • Has a calm manner and is able to work flexibly and use their initiative; 
  • Is able to establish and sustain supportive and nurturing relationships; 
  • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills whilst remaining patient and positive;
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to establish and maintain good relationships and rapport with colleagues, parents and other professionals;
  • Is able to maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures; 
  • Can link with external program providers;

Applicants must have: 

  • Previous experience of working in a school, 
  • Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and experience of working with Autism preferred.
  • English and maths to GCSE level C/grade 4 or above or equivalent.

 

Teaching Assistant for KS2 - 1:2 ratio

Grade B2  £24,796, fte  (pro-rata) temporary position for one year.

35 hours per week; 08.15-15:15 Monday-Friday (including 30 minute break)

Start Date: September 2026 – July 2027

 

Closing Date: Friday 21st August 2026

Interview Date: TBC
