Denmead Infant School – where every day is a learning adventure!

We are a welcoming, inclusive village school looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated teaching assistant, with excellent communication skills and positive outlook to work 1-2-1 with one of our Year 2 children. The successful applicant will be able to support and engage children in their learning and adapt activities to suit their needs under the direction of the class teacher.  This post is a fixed term post for as long as the child remains at the school, which is anticipated to be until August 2025.

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has a positive regard for all children
  • Believes that all children can be successful and is passionate about enabling them to be so
  • Has high expectations of children’s behaviour and learning
  • Can clearly explain to children what is expected of them
  • Knows how to promote children’s independence
  • Is patient, calm and kind
  • Is keen to learn and develop his/ her own knowledge and skills in order support children’s learning
  • Has experience of supporting children with social and emotion and cognition and learning needs

The successful candidate will have English and Maths qualifications to at least GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent.
