At The Hayling College, a small secondary school with a big vision, we are proud to serve around 545 students aged 11–16. We’re an award-winning, inclusive, and forward-thinking school where every student matters. We are now seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our caring and committed team.
In this rewarding role, you will:

- Work closely with the SENDCo, class teachers, and pastoral staff to deliver tailored support
- Help students access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence
- Provide in-class support, small group interventions, and one-to-one assistance as required
- Build strong, positive relationships that help students feel understood and valued
- Support emotional regulation and communication, using patience and empathy at all times
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, ideally in an SEN, pastoral, or educational setting
- Understands that behaviour is often a form of communication
- Is calm under pressure, a good listener, and able to build trust with students
- Has a flexible and proactive approach to working with individuals and small groups
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people (training provided)
Why Join The Hayling College?
- A warm, inclusive school community where staff are truly valued
- Ongoing training and professional development, including SEN-specific CPD
- A supportive and skilled SEND and pastoral team
- Access to staff well-being initiatives, flexible working, a generous pension scheme, and a staff benefits platform
Whether you're looking to start a career in education or bring your experience to a new setting, this is a meaningful opportunity to support the students who need you most.
