Teaching Assistants

Job Introduction

We have several positions available for Teaching Assistants at our school.

Hours of Work:  

  • 16 hours and 15 minutes week – 5 mornings per week (8.45 am -12.00pm) mornings, part time teaching day (term-time),  or
  • 28 hours 45 minutes - 8.45 until 15.30 five days a week with 60 minutes for lunch, full time teaching day (term-time) 

We are seeking to appoint caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our friendly team.   Our TAs work in close partnership with class teachers, parents, outside agencies and our Inclusion Leader (SENDCo) to support and promote learning.

We are a happy and hardworking school with high expectations for all.  All staff are committed to achieving the very best for our friendly and well-behaved children, A genuine interest in children and their holistic learning is paramount and a relevant NVQ2 qualification would be desirable, although not essential.

Applicants should have the ability to:

  • employ appropriate nurturing skills 
  • support of the development of children’s social and self-help skills
  • have a passion for children’s social progress and well-being in addition to their academic success
  • work closely in a team to support and learn from colleagues
  • work with children either individually, in small groups to enable them to achieve their best
  • have Mathematics and English GCSE grade C or equivalent
  • be enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative and able to use their initiative
  • be positive calm and caring and able to sensitively support children
  • understand confidentiality and safeguarding
  • demonstrate good communication skills and be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly

Closing date: 1 June 2026

Interview date: 17 June 2026

Start date:  1 September 2026 or sooner if possible

Contract: Fixed term until 31 August 2027
