Job Introduction
We are currently looking to appoint Teaching Assistants on a Fixed-Term contract until 31 August 2026 with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Hours of Work:
- 16 hours and 15 minutes a week - 5 mornings per week (8.45 am -12.00pm)
- 28 hours 45 minutes a week - 8.45 until 15.30 five days a week with an hour for lunch – possibility of being paid to run a club.
We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants who are caring and enthusiastic to join our friendly team. Our TAs work in close partnership with class teachers, parents, outside agencies and our Inclusion Leader (SENDCo) to promote learning.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have ELSA training or who are willing to train to become ELSA qualified. This is not essential.
We are a happy and hardworking school with high expectations for all. All staff are committed to achieving the very best for our friendly and well-behaved children. A genuine interest in children and their holistic learning is paramount and a relevant NVQ2 qualification would be desirable, although not essential.
Applicants should have the ability to:
- have nurturing skills and the ability to be able to be supportive of the development of children’s social and self-help skills
- work closely in a team ethos to support and learn from colleagues
- work with children either individually or in small groups to enable them to achieve their best
- have Mathematics and English GCSE grade C or equivalent
- have a passion for children’s social progress and well-being in addition to their academic success
- be enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative and able to use their initiative
- be positive calm and caring and able to sensitively support children
- understand confidentiality and safeguarding
- demonstrate good communication skills and be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly
