Due to a long standing member of staff retiring, we are looking for a teaching assistant.

Waterside Primary School is situated on the edge of the New Forest within the town of Hythe. We are a small one form entry school who pride ourselves in understanding the needs of individual children in our care. Developing professional relationships with our children and their families in order to ensure the child has positive experiences in school in order for them to become the ‘best they can be’ is part of our ethos.
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, friendly, caring and inquisitive person to fulfil the role of Teaching Assistant. You will be working closely with the class teacher to provide positive behaviour management, support the children’s social and emotional needs as well as their academic needs.
We wish to appoint someone who:
- Have some professional experience working with children (can include experience whilst completing qualifications).
- Have a good standard of English and mathematics.
- Be able to work well with others and show own initiative.
- Be well organised, a good communicator, great team player and have a good sense of humour.
- Have high expectations of children's progress and attainment, and understand the need to promote independence.
- Have an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
- Be able to recognise and build on the strengths of all children whilst nurturing their well-being.

Training in interventions and some external training as required
