We are a successful multidisciplinary Technology department offering Design Technology, Engineering and Food courses. Our Food Preparation & Nutrition course is oversubscribed and highly successful: in August 2024 83 % of students achieved grade 4s or higher with 41% achieving grades 7-9. We have 2 fully equipped Food rooms for teaching.
We have a vacancy for a Technician in Food Technology and are eager to appoint someone with enthusiasm and good practical and organisational skills to provide technical support to the department. You will need to have a flexible approach, be able to use your initiative and meet deadlines. We are looking for someone with a good sense of humour to join our established team. Previous experience is not essential as training can be given. Work experience in a practical food setting would be beneficial.
Roles and responsibilities for the role will include:
• Setting up classroom equipment, materials and demonstration ingredients.
• Ordering and stock control
• Maintenance and care of stock and equipment
• Demonstrating equipment and techniques
• Administration
