Therapeutic Classroom Specialist Teacher
This is an exciting opportunity to join Potley Hill Primary School as we continue to embed our core values of Dream Big, Aim High and Make a Difference across our whole school community.
we are seeking a dedicated, passionate and inspirational practitioner to lead our brand new Therapeutic Classroom. The role will include shaping and developing this provision, champion inclusive practice, and deliver high-quality teaching to pupils within the base. Working with children 1 to 1 or in small groups to drive their learning forwards.
About the Role
- Lead the lesson delivery, ensuring it reflects our school values and commitment to inclusive education.
- Teach small groups of pupils in a nurturing, supportive environment, while facilitating successful integration into mainstream classrooms.
- Design and deliver a therapeutic and personalised curriculum, using trauma-informed approaches to prepare children for the challenges they face.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Headteacher and SENCo to ensure inclusion remains at the heart of everything we do.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.
We are looking for someone who:
- is an experienced and reflective practitioner with a strong background in supporting pupils with special educational needs
- Holds QTS and has at least five years of teaching experience (essential)
- Has training or experience in trauma-informed approaches or similar practices (essential)
- Holds or is working towards, a SENCo qualification (desirable)
- Can model and promote excellent inclusive practice across the school (essential)

Pay scale Main Pay Scale £ 37101 - Upper Pay Scale £47472 (SEND allowance depending upon experience)
