Job Title: Wrap Around Care Worker and Manager

Hours/week: Breakfast Care – 7.40-8.40am, After School Care - 3.15-6pm

 Although the advert will remain live until the end of November, we encourage early applications as there are multiple vacancies to fill.

This post is subject to successfully completing a 3 month probationary period and initially for a year from date of commencement, to be reviewed annually thereafter.

Care worker salary is minimum wage and age dependent.  Manager's salary is negotiable according to experience.

 

Job Purpose and duties:

 

  • To provide a range of stimulating activities, indoor and outdoor, relevant to the age, stage and needs of young children
  • To provide and prepare safe nutritional snacks for children
  • To provide a facility for children to do their homework including reading
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of children within our care
  • Promote good behaviour
  • Teat all children as individuals and have a secure knowledge and understanding of their needs while they are in our care
  • To act as a First Aider
  • Motivate and encourage the children to participate in activities
  • Liaise with class teachers
  • Ensure a clean, tidy environment conducive to fostering good health and safety practice
  • Manager to manage staffing, ratios, and provide overall guidance and planning of activities.

 

Person Specification:

 

  • Able to work under your own initiative
  • Ability to remain impartial and confidential at all times
  • Able to display warmth, care and sensitivity when dealing with children
  • Be creative, open-minded and adaptable
  • Have a good sense of humour

 

 

Corporate and statutory initiatives:

 

  • Maintain an awareness of school, national and statutory policies and requirements and apply these in the workplace.
  • Adhere to school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies.

 

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
