Job/Person Summary

Andover CE Primary School is looking to appoint dedicated and caring practitioners for our new wraparound care provision.  We require after school club assistants who will support the running of a new high-quality provision.  

The successful candidate will:

  • Be someone who cares for the children and enjoys seeing them have fun
  • Be creative and can come up with ideas for activities for the children to engage in
  • Have good behaviour management skills
  • Have a caring, patient approach towards children
  • Have a positive approach that supports the schools’ visions and values
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • Be a team player with a professional attitude
  • Is able to use their own initiative
  • Has appropriate experience of and enjoys working with the 4-11 age group 
  • Has a Childcare qualification (desirable)

Duties include

  • Setting up and clearing up the After School Club provision
  • Support a weekly programme of activities
  • Supporting the children in a wide variety of active games and quieter small group activities including board games, construction, arts and crafts and indoor and outdoor sporting activities
  • Attend to children’s health and well-being needs as necessary
  • Following procedures to dismiss children to their carer at the end of the session
  • Complete relevant paperwork in line with the role and responsibilities
  • Food preparation
  • First Aid
