Mary Rose Academy is seeking to appoint two proactive, resilient, and creative Home and Community Learning Assistant’s to join our growing specialist team, in this exciting role.
Our school is situated across three campuses in Portsmouth. Within this role, you will be asked to work across all three campuses as well as in pupils’ homes and the wider community.
At Mary Rose, we provide a highly specialist, personalised curriculum for young people with the most profound, severe and complex learning difficulties. In addition, the majority of pupils have co-occurring needs including: Autism Spectrum Condition, severe physical disabilities and highly complex medical conditions. Within this role, the successful candidate will be supporting pupils who cannot, for a range of reasons, access the school environment, receiving their curriculum at home or in the community instead.

You must be able to recognise the importance of removing barriers, working with pupils individually, outside of the classroom, either in the community or the family home to assist in the delivery, provision or sourcing of supportive interventions in a calm, respectful and caring manner.
You will be emotionally resilient, flexible, innovative, forward thinking and a team player with a good sense of humour.
You will want to build excellent relationships with our pupils, while being compassionate to their needs, with a desire understand them, and their families, wholly.
You will strive to build positive relationships with alternative provision providers to ensure best quality service for our pupils.
It is desirable that you have access to your own vehicle and be willing to use this for business purposes.

The hours for this role are Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am – 4pm
You will work for 39 weeks of the year; however, you will be paid for 45.1 weeks. Your salary will be paid over 12 months of the year.
