We are looking to appoint an experienced learning support assistant for 12 hours per week from Sept 2026 – August 2027 within one of our Y1 classes (Thursdays and Fridays - additional hours may be available on other days). This is a fixed term position, but could lead to other roles within the classroom support team from Sept 2027 for an appropriately skilled and flexible candidate.

  • have experience working in a school with younger children;
  • be able to show initiative but work closely with the class teacher to provide a positive learning environment;
  • have experience of supporting children with a range of additional needs;
  • be able to promote positive learning behaviours;
  • be able to foster enthusiasm for learning in the indoor and outdoor environments and enjoy working as a play partner during child-initiated learning;
  • be enthusiastic, reliable and willing to work as part of a large staff team in our 3-form entry school.
  • Have achieved GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in maths and English (essential)

We can offer:

  • motivated children who are keen to learn and make the most of our provision
  • a supportive and welcoming staff team – as a school, we have signed up to the DfE Staff Well-being Charter
  • access to on-going professional development
  • a well-resourced school, with extensive grounds
