Salary Type: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale plus TLR 2a 

Hours of Work: Full-time


North Baddesley Junior School is a popular three-form entry school set in a semi-rural area. We have the exciting opportunity to appoint a new year leader to join our hardworking and dedicated team. 

Is your passion to inspire children, build their resilience, positivity and independence to help them achieve success? Can you motivate and lead staff, instilling passion and supporting colleagues to raise standards even higher? As a year leader you will be responsible for driving the teaching and learning in your year team, and share good practice across the entire Key Stage. This position will come with full time class teacher responsibility with dedicated leadership time to carry out year leader commitments. 

We are looking for someone who;

enjoys working with children as part of a team,

  • can positively lead a team within the school,

  • adapts planning to ensure that all the needs of the children are met. 

is skilled in reducing barriers to enable individuals to access learning,

can use their initiative,

is reflective and considers what a child’s behaviour may be communicating

is proactive and keen to work with others,

understands safeguarding and confidentiality procedures


The successful candidate will need to:

QTS status, and any further training since becoming a teacher e.g NPQ 

Have high expectations of achievement for all pupils,

Enthuse and inspire children to learn,

Have a positive approach to behaviour management strategies,

Have excellent communication skills and can relate well to others,

Be willing to learn and try new ideas.

The successful applicant will be committed to high standards in teaching and learning in their own practice. Our teachers all take their PPA together in year teams and we are fully committed to CPD and utilising your skills to the maximum.
