Job Introduction

1 to 1 SEN Assistant (Nursery)

Fixed Term to 31/7/2025 in the first instance

Term Time Only   

Salary: B Grade - £24,027 pa (Full Time Equivalent) – Pro Rata Salary £8,886

16 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 10am to 2pm

Park Community Nursery is a modern nursery set within the grounds of Park Community School in Leigh Park. We provide childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We are looking for a 1 to 1 SEN Assistant to support the nursery team with one child who requires additional support. 

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • The 1:1 care of the individual child to support their individual educational plan (IEP) 
  • Working with behaviour management and SEN representative to ensure the child’s needs are met
  • Keeping colleagues informed and disclose relevant updates with regards to continual progress of children on a 1:1 support programme
  • Working with external professionals or agencies involved with the family support of the child you are providing 1:1 care for.

 The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an early years setting. An early years qualification is desirable. We are looking for a patient and empathetic individual with a positive approach to supporting children’s individual needs. You should have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and experience working with IEPs is desirable.
