1:1 Teaching Assistant at Sholing Infant School

Job Introduction

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil who requires additional support with learning needs and personal care.  You will have experience of supporting children with special educational needs alongside experience of working with pupils with SEMH.  You will be working in close partnership with the class teacher as well as under the overall direction of the SENDCo.  

You will be a pivotal member of staff in our happy and supportive team and have a passion for teaching and learning.  You will be able to motivate, challenge and inspire our children further.   You will have the highest expectations for achievement and behaviour, the ability to develop outstanding relationships with colleagues, children and parents and have excellent communication and organisational skills.

WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO: 

 

  • Has GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Is qualified to Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline 
  • Has previous experience of guiding the learning of children, preferably within a school setting
  • Has previous experience of working with children with additional learning and personal care needs.
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Is able to maintain children’s interest and motivation for learning and to maintain discipline
  • Is able to work well as a member of a team
  • Has the ability to work with, support, understand and empathise with children
