Admin Officer

Job Introduction

Preston Candover CE Primary is offering the exciting opportunity to work as a key member of our small Admin team in a friendly village primary school. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is able to multi-task, willing to learn and develop, is highly organised and has the highest professional standards. The ideal candidate will have some previous administrative experience in a busy office environment, excellent written and oral communications skills and proficient in all Microsoft office programmes. As the first point of contact for parents and visitors you must be confident in delivering a high level of customer service. This position would suit an individual with some previous admin and financial experience.

Hours per week: 28-30

We are looking for an Admin Officer who:

  • Can use their initiative and has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Is committed to the safeguarding of our children
  • Has some experience of working in school administration/finance environment 
  • Can prepare, manage and monitor the annual allocated school budget alongside the headteacher and supported by Hampshire Educational Financial Services
  • Is confident managing petty cash, purchasing card payments, and selecting suppliers
  • Has experience using IBC and Arbor alongside other Hampshire school systems
  • Will support and work closely with the Headteacher, e.g. PA
  • Has some experience of HR and payroll
  • Is able to line manage a small team
  • Is willing to administer first aid on children and adults and to support children with medical needs alongside the Senior Admin Assistant (first aid training is preferable but can be supplied)
  • Is dedicated and hardworking and enjoys working with children
  • Can work under pressure with good time management skills
  • Is familiar with GDPR and can maintain high levels of confidentiality 
  • Is confident in providing front of house reception services, as well as hospitality and welfare
