Job Introduction
St Peter’s is a friendly, happy and supportive school in Waterlooville with over 400 children on roll. We have high expectations of our staff and currently have a vacancy for a professional, effective and enthusiastic individual to join the happy and hardworking office team at our large primary school as a part time receptionist/admin assistant/first aider. We require someone who can multi-task, has excellent inter-personal skills and can deliver outstanding service in support of a busy school. Ideally, you would have school office experience and be a trained First Aider, however training can be given to the right candidate.
The successful applicant will:
- Be a strong team player
- Have fantastic communication skills and confidence in dealing with a diverse range of people on the phone, face to face and in writing
- Demonstrate excellent IT skills – including competence in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word. Experience in Excel and Powerpoint would also be an advantage.
- Be confident and pro-active in maintaining and improving administrative systems in a busy school office
- Be able to deal with a very busy medical room calmly and efficiently
- Be flexible, adaptable and unflappable
- Be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
The post-holder will work as a member of our office staff team providing first point of contact for parents/carers and visitors at the front desk, effective and efficient provision of first aid, admin support and receptionist duties. The role involves providing first aid provision and responding to medical incidents, carrying out a range of administrative tasks and working collaboratively with other members of our office team.
Hours of work will be Thursday and Fridays from 8.30am to 4.30pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break.
