Caretaker

Job Introduction

The Federation of Guillemont Junior School and Pinewood Infant School is looking for a caretaker to work at the Guillemont Junior School site. The school is warm and friendly, defined by its strong child-centred ethos. We are seeking to appoint a dependable, flexible, and practical person who takes pride in their work to join our dedicated team, working together to achieve the highest standards possible for the children in our care.

We are looking for someone with a cheerful nature, a sense of humour, and a "can-do" attitude who has a range of practical skills to ensure our site provides a welcoming, safe environment for all.

Key duties include:

  • Unlocking the school site
  • General site and grounds maintenance
  • Carrying out minor repairs, routine preventative maintenance, and ad-hoc decorating
  • Liaising with maintenance contractors
  • Health & Safety checks and record keeping
  • Supporting the care of our beloved school animals (guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds)

Whilst this is a 52-week contract, the working pattern can be adapted during the holiday periods, and there is also flexibility to take some holiday during term time. Full training for the role will be provided.
