After School Club Assistant 5 days 3:15pm – 6:00pm Grade B

Job Introduction

Anstey Junior School is seeking a kind, caring and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support the daily running of our provision. The successful candidate will help to create a safe, happy and stimulating environment that reflects the values and ethos of our school.

You will work as part of a supportive team to ensure the care, play and welfare needs of the children are met, while supporting high standards in line with school policies, Ofsted requirements and Government guidance.

Relevant qualifications and previous experience are desirable, however training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of the hall, snacks and resources ahead of each session
  • Ensure play equipment and materials are safe, clean and well maintained
  • Assist with tidying and clearing the room at the end of each session
  • Work collaboratively as part of the school team, following procedures relating to:
    1. Safeguarding and Child Protection
    2. The Children’s Act
    3. Ofsted standards
    4. Equality, diversity and inclusion
    5. Health and Safety
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the provision by maintaining a high standard of care and professionalism
  • Support basic first aid and hygiene arrangements (training can be provided if required)
  • Work alongside the After School Club Leader to plan and deliver engaging, creative and age‑appropriate activities
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with parents and carers, reflecting the school’s commitment to partnership working
