We have an exciting opportunity for someone to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant across our two schools. The post is initially for one year. We are looking to appoint a confident, self-motivated, flexible, well organised candidate who has strong experience of working within a Primary school setting to join our team.
You will have:
- A passion and excitement for teaching and learning.
- The ability to use initiative to assess and evaluate pupils needs within lessons.
- Energy, commitment and a great sense of humour.
- At least GCSE Grade C in English and Maths. Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is desirable as well as completion of an HLTA qualification or teaching qualification / graduate.
- The ability to maintain children's interest, enthusiasm and motivation for learning.
- A strong commitment to ensure effective behaviours for learning are maintained and be confident in managing whole classes and small groups.
- Previous experience of working with and guiding the learning of children across a Primary school and or early years setting;
- Up-to-date knowledge of the primary curriculum.
The successful candidate will join a team of highly skilled, friendly professionals who are committed to providing an inclusive, creative and stimulating curriculum for all children.
You will be able to:
- Think on your feet and adapt plans where necessary.
- Communicate effectively with class teachers.
- Use your initiative to assess and evaluate pupils needs within the lesson, and leading the delivery of learning activities, adapting lesson plans if necessary.
The core tasks and duties of the role will include:
- Teaching whole classes across the Federation during the absence of the teacher.
- Taking responsibility for communicating outcomes to class teachers to enable future planning.
- Following school policies and procedures, e.g. the behaviour management approach.
- Working in partnership with teachers to deliver learning activities to whole classes during the teacher's PPA or subject leader release time, or to cover absence when necessary
