At Herne Junior School, we are looking for a happy, enthusiastic and energetic Twilight Play Worker to join our successful after-school club provision. Our Twilight Club provides a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can relax, play, socialise and unwind after the school day.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating fun, stimulating and inclusive experiences that support children's wellbeing and development.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Twilight Play Worker, you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of the after-school club.
- Plan and deliver a range of creative, active and play-based activities.
- Supervise children in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.
- Support children's social, emotional and personal development.
- Maintain attendance registers and other records.
- Prepare and tidy resources, equipment and refreshments.
- Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
- Work closely with colleagues, parents and carers.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times.
- Assist with first aid and support children with medical needs when required.
What We're Looking For
We would love to hear from candidates who:
- Have experience working with children in a school, childcare or play setting.
- Hold, or are working towards, a Level 2 qualification in Playwork, Youth Work or a related field.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
- Are organised, reliable and able to work as part of a team.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are enthusiastic about supporting children's learning, wellbeing and development.
- Can maintain accurate records and follow procedures effectively.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- First Aid qualification.
- Food Hygiene Level 2.
- Experience within a wraparound childcare provision.
- Knowledge of SEND, equality and inclusive practice.
- Understanding of Ofsted requirements for childcare settings.
