Salary Details: £11,564 to £13,952 (dependent upon hours and experience)
Hours of Work: Flexible. Between 22hrs – 25hrs per week, operating either a split shift working pattern (AM and PM hours) or AM or PM / Monday to Friday / 52 weeks per year contract. However the hours of work are fully negotiable.
Location of Role: Endeavour Primary School (predominantly on our Kirk Campus)
Job/Person Summary
We are looking to appoint a Caretaker who will report directly to our Site Manager. You will oversee site security and site management. You will provide supervision of contractors, form part of an out of hours rota, provide caretaking of the school and grounds, cleaning, porterage and routine maintenance to meet the needs of the school. Whilst at all times ensuring high standards of cleanliness and operational effectiveness are met and compliant with health and safety requirements.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, has a good sense of humour, a bright outlook, integrity and good time keeping. The role will be overseeing our Kirk Campus, however you will be required to work across both school campuses and adapt to the school needs, therefore a flexible approach to working is essential.
If working a split shift system, this will mean a few hours in the morning and the remaining hours in the afternoon. Exact hours to be agreed and are negotiable, however the morning shift will generally start around 7:30am and the afternoon shift will finish around 6:15pm.
Ideally you will hold a full driving licence and have some practical / maintenance work experience. An understanding of basic Health and Safety, and the ability to do lifting is essential. Some basic IT skills would be advantageous as is good spoken and written English. Please note that it is not essential to have previously undertaken the role of a Caretaker in a school, full training will be provided.
