Assistant Headteacher: Designated Safeguarding & Attendance Lead, Line Manager for SEND

 A unique opportunity to join our Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher has arisen, owing to the promotion of one of our current team members to work with the Local Authority within their Inclusion Team. 

 We now seek to appoint an inspirational person with:

  1. Strong, assertive, positive and engaging leadership presence around school with all colleagues and young people alike, no matter the challenges of the day;
  2. Passion for and experience in Safeguarding, Attendance, Inclusion and SEND;
  3. Resolve to sustain strong, transparent partnerships with parents, carers, agencies and other local community members, even in times of challenge or complaint;
  4. Excellent leadership capacity, a commitment to self-improvement, reflection and professional learning;
  5. A proven track record of rapidly and/or sustainably raising standards and progress across the school in the areas in which you currently work and lead;
  6. A cracking sense of humour and of kindness, and real joy for the job and education, all our students, and our entire Noadswood family.

  • Demonstrate credibility as an excellent teaching practitioner in your subject(s);
  • Understand to your core and exude the leadership behaviours of trustworthiness, honesty, shared values and language, and empowerment of others,
  • Have a commitment to research-informed practice, particularly but not exclusively re safeguarding, inclusion or behaviour,
  • Are committed to your own professional learning and in the development of other colleagues in our school;
  • Have a passion for areas of leadership about which you have experience as well as the flexibility to develop your skills and experience in others.
