Job Introduction

Due to the retirement of our current Headteacher after a strong tenure of six years, we are now seeking a new, dynamic Headteacher to lead our dedicated staff and vibrant community into the next chapter of our journey. Samuel Cody School is a large, thriving, inclusive, and forward-thinking school dedicated to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We provide a nurturing environment where every learner is valued, encouraged, and empowered to achieve their fullest potential. Our goal is to be a beacon of excellence.

You will need to be able to:

  • Provide visionary leadership, ensuring the highest quality of education and care for all pupils and students across all three school contexts.

  • Work collaboratively with governors, staff, families, and external agencies to strengthen outcomes for learners.
  • Continue to develop our strong ethos of respect, resilience, and responsibility.

About You:
We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in whole school leadership, with a proven record of improving teaching, learning, and wellbeing.
  • A skilled communicator who can inspire, motivate, and support both staff and young people.

  • Passionate in the belief that every child deserves to flourish.
  • An energetic, creative and courageous leader.
  • Able to inspire and motivate staff to deliver outstanding teaching and care.
  • Able to see challenges as opportunities and thrives on making a difference.

Selection Procedure

The shortlist will be drawn up and the selection process will take place during the week beginning 17 November 2025. Further details will be sent to those candidates called for interview.

Applicants will be advised after the shortlisting date whether they have been successful.
